Maths Teacher Killed by 14yo Student in School Bathroom
Colleen was a talented 24-year-old math teacher.
Colleen Ritzer was a 24-year-old math teacher who was a gifted, affable, and well-liked individual. She worked at High School in Danvers, Massachusetts.
Colleen frequently stayed after school on October 22, 2013, to provide any pupils who might have required any additional support. Philip Chism, a 14-year-old pupil, was one of them.
Philip had recently relocated to the region from Tennessee and was shy and reserved. However, when Colleen tried to inquire about his move, he became agitated, so she changed the topic.
Right before 3:00 p.m., Colleen then left the classroom to use the restroom. In order to follow Colleen into the restroom, Philip likewise stood up, looked to make sure the corridor wasn’t occupied, and then put the hood of his sweatshirt over his head.
On the CCTV clip, he can be seen grabbing a box cutter and donning gloves before going into the restroom and he was seen coming out of the restroom all splattered with blood. In the video, he can be seen returning with a huge recycling container and wheeling it past the building before exiting into some nearby woods.
When Philip entered the washroom, Colleen was standing the other way around and didn’t notice him. Chism attacked her from behind and proceeded to stab her sixteen times.
Chism used the school’s recycling bin to take Colleen unseen, into the woods next to the building where he committed further abuse before leaving Colleen dead or dying.
After changing into a set of clothing he had in his bag, Chism headed to Wendy’s and later to the theater. He paid at both Wendy’s and at the theater with Colleen’s card which he stole from her.
Philip enjoyed a Woody Allen movie at Hollywood Hits, a theater that was close to his Danvers residence where he resided with his mother and two younger sisters.
